Ieri (il 25 luglio 2022) eravamo a Roma per il primo Project Management Meeting del nuovo Programma Erasmus+: Gioventù.
La giornata, organizzata dall’Agenzia Nazionale Giovani, ha dato ufficialmente avvio alle attività del progetto Music for Freedom, che Arci Liguria realizzerà in Europa come capofila.
Music for Freedom si rivolge a giovani detenuti o impegnati in misure alternative al carcere. Il progetto si pone alcuni importanti obiettivi, quali il sostenere il benessere personale e il recupero educativo dei destinatari ed offrire loro opportunità di riscatto, utilizzando e valorizzando le discipline hip hop e sviluppando competenze e sbocchi professionali, in campo artistico e tecnico, nel mondo della musica rap. In parallelo, Music for Freedom vuole anche migliorare le competenze e i modelli d’intervento degli youth workers per integrare queste discipline nelle pratiche educative, in carcere.
Gli obiettivi che ci siamo dati con M4F sono ambiziosi: in 36 mesi vogliamo allestire 6 laboratori stabili di produzione musicale, in 6 paesi europei diversi (Italia, Turchia, Romania, Belgio, Portogallo e Germania), di cui 4 in carcere e 2 all’esterno, sempre in collegamento con il sistema penitenziario. Desideriamo, inoltre, coinvolgere almeno 15 youth workers per sviluppare corsi di formazione con almeno 80 giovani detenuti e sviluppare collaborazioni con labels musicali internazionali per dare opportunità di lavoro, creativo, artistico e tecnico sia durante il periodo detentivo che successivamente.
Siamo sempre emozionati quando parte un nuovo progetto europeo, perché sappiamo di avere la possibilità di incidere, di cambiare le cose, elaborando buone e importanti pratiche e creando reti e relazioni con realtà di altri Paesi.
Sappiamo che ci attende un lavoro complesso. Abbiamo tre anni, davanti, che affronteremo con entusiasmo grazie alla collaborazione dei nostri partner: : CPIP, AUFBRUCH, IZMIR DENETIMLI SERBESTLIK MUDURLUGU, ETIC, EFA, ASTURIA e E.N.T.E.R.

Yesterday (July 25, 2022) we have been in Rome for the first Project Management Meeting of the new Erasmus+ Program: Youth.
The day, settled by the Agenzia Nazionale Giovani, set officially start to the Music for freedom project activities, which will be held in Europe by ArciLiguria as their frontrunner.
Music for Freedom is dedicated to young inmates or young people committed to alternative measures than prison. The project aims to some important objectives such as the sustainment of the personal wellness, the educational recovery of the young people addressed and new chances of compensation for them, employing and enhancing the disciplines of Hip Hop and developing skills and professional outlets, in the artistic and technical field, in the rap music world. At the same time, Music for Freedom would seek to improve youth workers’ skills and models of action to combine the hip hop disciplines mentioned above with the educational practices already enacted during detention.
The objectives given with Music for Freedom are ambitious: in 36 months we wish to settling 6 permanent workshops of musical production, in 6 different european countries (Italy, Turkey, Romania, Belgium, Portugal and Germany), 4 of which in prison and 2 outdoor, always in connection with the penitentiary system. We wish, furthermore, to engage at least 15 youth workers to develop learning courses with at least 80 young inmates and to enact a collaboration with international music labels for offering chances of creative, artistic, technical work during the detention period as well as the following one.
We are always thrilled when a new european projects begins, because we know we get the chance to have a positive impact, to change things, to elaborate good and important practices and create networks and relations with other countries.
We know a challenging work is waiting for us. We have, in front of us, three years that we will approach with enthusiasm thanks to our partners’ collaboration: CPIP, AUFBRUCH, IZMIR DENETIMLI SERBESTLIK MUDURLUGU, ETIC, EFA, ASTURIA and E.N.T.E.R.
